Guys... guns in the future aren't going to have red dot sights on 'em. What's up with these weapons from the year 2090 and beyond that have current day sights?
It's all wrong.
In the future, we're going to have gunsights that paint your point of aim directly on your iris with lasers and holograms, like the HUD from Mechwarrior. Heck, there's already an effort to combine sights with Google Glass. How cool is that?
No need to line up your eye with anything, because you'll know right where your gun is pointing.
If futuristic FPS games were up on the whole scifi thing, they'd go back to the oldschool FPS days, where you had a reticule painted on your screen. Of course, you could also have a zoomed in view off to the side of the screen at all times for precision shooting, like the old Delta Force games.
