I haven't been super busy here on DA lately, because for the past six months or so I've been occupied with work for clients. While I'd love to post some of that stuff, I'm under obligation to keep most of it on the down-low until the various projects are released. For those curious, I've been working on a board game called Cauldron of the Gods, by www.facebook.com/CivilizedAnim… You can see some of my latest work there. Check them out, and if you're a fan of such games, give them a like, and support their Kickstarter when it's launched. Cauldron of the Gods promises to be loads of fun.

Parade Colors by Jeremiah Humphries by J-Humphries
Parade Colors by Jeremiah Humphries
I love colorful spaceships. Cold grey is cool and all, but the bright colors evoke medieval heraldry, which is always an interesting idea when combined with space ships. I imagine these  ships belong to the military forces of some noble house.  With color changing paint, they transform into official colors to honor their Lord. When in deep space, they change hue to blend into the background.  Here, a missile frigate powers past the outskirt sprawls of a space fortress.

Yeah, the color scheme reference isn't too subtle. What can I say? Homeworld is brilliant.

Riding the Red Horse Cover by J-Humphries
Riding the Red Horse Cover
Here is the cover I art I did for Riding the Red Horse
This was a bit of a collaboration between myself and jartstar.deviantart.com/, the art director. I was handed a comp sketch along with a series of pre-rendered 3D assets, and put to work. The drop-ship, sky, and distant skyscraper were unmodified by me, but mech and foreground rubble are both 3D assets that I spent some time painting over in Photoshop. The human figures, and all else I painted from the ground up.

I've accepted the requests. Those castles were all done from imagination. I did use a lot of different reference photos for inspiration though.

www.deviantart.com/art/Gray-Ke… this one reminds me of a real castle? Do you remember if you used a real refference for it?

Yeah. I saw a picture of a castle that was in the middle of a lake, which I thought was pretty cool.
