Rusty Ship Interior by J-Humphries Rusty Ship Interior by J-Humphries
Some people were asking what the interior looked like, and I figured that I was just as curious about it as they were. Here's the cockpit, which needs just as much work as the exterior. You'll notice the old airplane like instruments, which came standard. Right now, they serve as backup- replaced by an array of multifunctional computer screens. Some of them show exterior views from different telescopic cameras around the ship, to give the pilot a clear view while taking off and landing. Lots of panels have been torn off to expose the electrical system, which as you no doubt have guessed, needs rewiring.

Edit: when I first displayed this painting here I cropped it for some reason. I looked back at the old un-cropped image and liked it better, so here it is.

I can imagine the grandkids playing fighter pilot in those chairs - making machine guns noises and bouncing on the pokey old springs.

Great job =) I would like to continue to see the interior design of this wonderful miracle of technology =) For example, the wardroom, kitchen, crew cabins, bath and toilet, cargo bay ..... =)

I like the feeling of volume here, the lines are quick and rather sparse yet convey the the 3D volume most efficiently. Very impressive. Also cool to see space tech in disrepair. :) Worth a fave.

Reminds me of the old boneyards filled with stripped down slowly rusting airplanes, trains, and heavy machinery.

While this came across as silly and stupid to me, I actually find this to be one of the most clever cockpit illustrations I have ever seen. It looks so lived in rather then brand new and shiny. I love that feel in this.

Thanks much! You know it's really kind of obvious that a ship would look like that if it's seen any use at all. I mean, if you look at the interiors of tractors, trucks, ships and the like, they're all a bit grungy.

It is not very often that you see interior art, even more so when it is done with the attention to detail that you have accomplished. Great job!:D

what Ion!

Yeah but how is it getting 'into' space?!

Granted both of us are stationed somewhere near Io and Mars..
" Due to their relatively high power needs, given the specific power of power supplies, and the requirement of an environment void of other ionized particles, ion thrust propulsion is currently practical only in outer space."

Hydrogen oxygen thrusters? D2 (2H2) I have no idea what comes after H3 boosters.

Can you do the sleeping quarters next?

This is part of the reason why the carbon fiber space elevator was envisioned.... Earths gravity well SUCKS.. to put it minimally.

That is countered by the presence of a xenon-poly-matrix fusion reactor, with zinc thermo-drafts stabilized by halogen core mass dampers.

what year is it now.... holy shit! (lol)

Ps. Heavenly bodies = *Worlds - moons, habitable asteroids/ small planetoids.?

"Yep, it is indeed a spaceship. I don't think it has a warp drive, but it can make a trip to the moon in no time. It was a courtier ship, delivering freight into orbit and nearby heavenly bodies. Also, you're looking at the cockpit/command center."

So what are they using now.... Have we been grounded? I need to know more.. sooo cool how do I get involved...

Have you seen PLANETES? BEBOP? wait those are cool shows...
