A ship is being loaded with a few packages just before takeoff.

So you might be wondering how such a clunky looking craft manages to maneuver at all in the atmosphere. The answer is simple: Force fields! The ship can project an array of force fields into an aerodynamic form, so the air doesn't actually flow over the ship itself, but an invisible shell.

Anyway, I hope you like it!

I like it! That ship is very "Fire Fly"-esc.

I'm so fascinated by your tallent ,it looks like screenshot from a futuristic movie or something like that! :D
The aircraft reminds me of a crocodile in some way! Love the idea with the force fields, so clever :D

I really like your composition with this one, vonmurder. However there's one thing about your images generally that bugs me: there are no full darks to give you a full value range. Thus there is detail in both your light areas and your shadows, which is generally not how light works in real life. Usually if the lights are well-exposed then the darks will be pretty murky; if the darks have detail then the lights will be blown out slightly. I think if you were to really push your shadows darker you would get a big boost of realism to your images which are already going good places.

I think it's safe to say then that your color profiles are not my color profiles :/

And once it get's into space it weird shapes don't matter. My comment is that this is a really bad choice of docking spot and the pilot is going to get someone hurt someday.

Amazing art work. The scenery looks fantastic. I like how the ship looks like here. The mix of realistic setting and the scifi element of the ship makes the work great! Well done! :D

Force fields... Why force fields? Just pull a F4-Phantom (aka "The triumph of thrust over aerodynamics") and say that it has really powerful engines.

That said: Awesome painting. I really like the juxtaposition of a futuristic, yet somewhat downtrodden, spaceship and the anachronism of a pick-up.

So many details bring this to life: the worker, the bumper sticker on the truck, the shelves in the shed, all of it.

Really like the mix of old and new. Little nod to Bladerunner..?

Well, all modern scifi art has nods to Bladerunner, it can't help but do. I was thinking about how there are anachronisms even today; we sit on chairs that have essentially been designed thousands of years ago while we type on smart phones.

Ahh force fields, sci-fi's solution to everything. Love your ship design, as always. I also like the combination of the old (wheelbarrow and pickup) and the new (green delivery-mabob and ship) modes of transportation. The scene also seems to get more technologically advanced the further into the background it goes, is that intended?

Not really, but it's interesting that you should point that out. I do like the idea that some ancient technology will never really be abandoned.
